Craignure Improvements

Following a disappointing on-line meeting regarding the Craignure Pier development proposals, and on a beautiful July day, Craignure Bay Community Group were delighted to welcome representatives from Argyll & Bute Council and Turner & Townsend Infrastructure Ltd. to Craignure, for a walk and talk through our village from Java to the Village Hall and all points in between. Over several hours, cups of tea and a delicious lunch – thank you Pennygate Lodge Guesthouse! – all parties had the chance to amicably and openly discuss the intentions and implications of the new pier development along with its inevitable impact on both the immediate village and Mull as a whole. Overall, the Group felt assured that by the time our visitors got back on their ferry, they left us with a better understanding of the concerns from the village perspective and we can only hope that they take these views forward into their next stage.
It was a proud moment for the Group to be able point out the many results of all the hard work that has been done by so many volunteers throughout our village in a variety of ways, proof if it were ever needed, that we are a strong and caring community… more in the printed issue
