West over Sea 2024

The Tobermory Book Festival, which took place in the Western Isles Hotel in October, brought authors and audiences together to discuss everything from the medicinal powers of seaweed and the extraordinary journeys of the Manx Shearwater to the challenges of land ownership in Scotland and the beauty of winter storms viewed from a croft in Wester Ross. Elizabeth Carter and Miek Zwamborn opened the Festival on Friday morning telling the story of The Beatons of Mull to a sell-out audience, and capacity audiences also enjoyed talks from Roger Morgan-Grenville, Andy Wightman, Mollie Hughes and Alexander McCall Smith amongst others… more in the printed issue
