Intriguing name, I thought, little knowing it’s also a well-known Indian drink. The play on words was lost on me, but I’m relieved to hear I was in good company… This was just one of the things we learned in a lovely interlude spent at one of An Tobar’s ‘house gigs’ recently.
The lassie in question is Amy Bowman, a delightfully relaxed and chatty woman who turned what could have been an awkward intimate gig into an easy and very special experience. Amy also has the most exquisite voice and writes beautiful mindful songs – what’s not to like there?… more in the printed issue
