Mull Highland Games

The Tobermory Games are popular for many reasons, not least the wonderful view from the Golf course at Erray Park where they are held – however this year the view was not evidence, as for the first time in a number of years, Games Day was wet from start to finish – the sun returning just around 5pm as the Games wound up. This meant the Highland Dancing competitions were held in the Scout Hall, which was a big miss for many on the Games field – including the stewards and competitors.
The weather also affected the numbers, not only of spectators, but of competitors as well. Those hardy souls who did turn up however threw themselves into the spirit of the Games. As Craig Dunbar the commentator says, these are the best Games for the competitors because the crowd always gets behind them and supports them… more in the printed issue
