The first day of 2023 dawned with sunshine and the welcome return of the New Year Shinty match on Ardalanish beach, which attracted quite a throng to partake of hot soup and other delicacies and wish each other a Happy New Year. Indeed a fair few actually took part in the Shinty, watched with envy by a number of dogs, who after some initial skirmishes had to be restrained from joining in. Team captains were Rob Claxton-Ingham and Palmo Jones, and the game was lively from the outset, with some very exciting moments before finishing with a very creditable 4 all draw… more in the printed issue
