“If we winter this one out, we can summer anywhere.” (Seamus Heaney)
Good news about young otter Bealltainn, who was rescued on the Ross of Mull in May last year. The International Otter Survival Fund is caring for her on Skye.
Ben Yoxon of IOSF reports, “She is doing well. With the snow we had a few weeks back you could really see how active she was when we weren’t there. There were footprints all over the pen which is a good sign. She has spent the last couple of days outside her box during the day, with it being dry, she loves lying outside! She has also started taking grass/twigs etc. into her sleeping box which is a good natural sign. Seeing her gathering bedding materials is very encouraging.”
