September Sessions

Friday 19th of September saw the start of the very first “Ross of Mull September Sessions”, a live music event centred around Bunessan with the aim of all profits being donated to Fèis Mhuile to help encourage the next generation of young, local, traditional musicians.
There were various artists performing in the Bunessan Inn over the whole weekend and the festival ended with a good old ceilidh dance in the village hall on the Saturday night to conclude a fantastic weekend of live music.
On Friday evening, hailing from the Isle of Skye, we had the very talented solo artist Ali MacFarlane take to the stage at the Inn. No stranger to festivals having performed at Heb Celt and Skye Live recently, Ali provided a mixture of covers and her own material, impressing the crowd with her striking vocals. The crowd were also treated to (endured) the familiar tones of Treshnish throughout the evening. Thankfully, young Angus MacDonald from Tobermory was on hand to once again get the crowd going with a cracking rendition of the “Kishorn Commandos”… more in the printed issue
