Tireragan Trails get a Face Lift

Tireragan is a stunning piece of land at the end of the Ross between Knockvologan and Ardalanish. It comprises upland heath, peat bogs, grassland, woodland and an extensive coastline with cliffs, rocky gullies and sandy beaches. 25 years ago it was bought for conservation and fenced off from livestock and deer and has been naturally regenerating since then. It is now currently managed by the Tireragan Trust, a group of mostly local volunteers whose aim is to enhance and protect the biodiversity but also to encourage people to visit and engage sensitively with the land and come away with a better understanding and appreciation of this special site… more in the printed issue
