The Return of the Games!

What a joy to be back amongst the crowds enjoying the Mull Highland Games on 21st July of this year! Last year’s Gathering was a bold effort, and a credit to the organisers under Covid restrictions, but the full Games Day with competitors and visitors from all over cannot be beaten.
This was evident right from the beginning, with a group of over 60 Boy Scouts from Belgium joining the march up to the games field. The boys were camping at Ardcrishnish in the Ross of Mull, which is owned by the grandparents of one of the Scout leaders, Gustave Mondron. ‘I’ve been coming to Mull for a long time now’ said Gustave ‘and I really appreciate it and love it here. It’s been my dream for a while to bring our Scout troop from Brussels to camp here. It was difficult to organize, but it’s been really worth it. The boys are finding it super fun.’ The Scouts even had their own personal race at the Games, which involved much chaos and obviously a lot of fun!… more in the printed issue
